Colfax-Mingo baseball ends season against Pleasantville

MADRID — Colfax-Mingo baseball's team ended its season following an 11-1 loss to Pleasantville in the quarterfinals of the Class 2A District 12 tournament.

The Tigerhawks fell behind 6-0 before scoring their only run in the top of the fifth inning. Pleasantville plated five runs in the bottom of the inning to win by mercy rule in five innings.

Colfax-Mingo (9-13) had just one hit and walked twice in the game, but official statistics were unavailable at press time.

Pleasantville (18-16) has won four straight games and seven of its last eight. The Trojans face top-seeded Woodward-Granger (22-7) at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Woodward.

Cael Lester had three hits, including a home run, scored three runs and finished with three RBIs for the Trojans, who produced seven hits and drew nine walks in the win. Grant Fouch threw a one-hitter on the mound.
