Bolts’ season ended by Twin Cedars

BUSSEY — Baxter’s offense was held to six hits, and the Bolts couldn’t push a run across the plate during a 6-0 loss to Twin Cedars during Class 1A Region 4 quarterfinal action on Wednesday night.

The Bolts finished .500 for the second straight season, capping the 2019 campaign at 12-12. They were 13-13 last season.

McKenzie Eslinger finished with two of the Bolts’ six hits.

Holly Jessen, Maddie Pierce, Allison Colyn and Kaitlyn Headlee all had one hit.

Sydney Schmidt took the loss in the circle, allowing six runs on 12 hits with two strikeouts and one walk.

Twin Cedars (29-8) scored four of its six runs in the fifth inning, and all four runs came with two outs.
