Newton Police Department
• Donald E. Baldwin, 54, was charged with public intoxication at 8:30 p.m. on June 16 by the Iowa Speedway. Newton officers received a call about a male that appeared to be intoxicated and walking into traffic. Officers found the subject stumbling near a camper that wasn’t his. Baldwin submitted to standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for public intoxication from the test and officer findings. He was transported to the Jasper County Jail.
