Sunbonnet Questers
The Sunbonnet Chapter of Questers met June 13 to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the chapter’s founding. Eleven of the 13 current members gathered for lunch at Johnnie’s Steak House in Altoona. Two charter members were present, Shirley Mielke and Charlotte Townsend.
Charlotte Townsend, chapter historian, brought the early historian books to share, and with Charlotte’s help, Lois Vogel presented the program sharing chapter memories. She included not only the names of all former members but a list of just some of the 260 programs presented in the past 45 years. Truly, “a walk down memory lane.” Members of our chapter have enjoyed years of friendship and fun while expanding knowledge of antiques and collectibles, and learning more of the history of Iowa, Newton and our nation.
President Susan Grigsby prepared the printed program with a lovely Sunbonnet Babies theme and a poster of member snapshots through the years.
Our next meeting will be July 11 at the home of Jeannette Shannon.
