Nelsen’s no-no leads Bolts to baseball win over BCLUW

BAXTER — Junior Carter Nelsen threw a complete-game no-hitter while striking out 15 and Baxter’s baseball team played a clean game in the field during an 8-0 season-opening win over BCLUW on Monday night.

Senior Derrick Klemme had two hits and an RBI, Nelsen chipped in an RBI double and freshman Rory Heer had one hit, three runs and three steals in the win.

The Bolts had no errors in the game. Nelsen walked five.

Baxter won only three games last year and the first one came on June 11.

The Bolts host North Tama for an Iowa Star Conference game at 5 p.m. on Friday in Baxter.
