When I first came to Newton from far away years ago, there were a couple of families who took me under their wing to make me feel welcome. The first family were the Hurtos, with Barry and Larry still to this day looking out for me.
The second family that made me feel welcome were the Caldwell’s, with both Gil and Randy also looking out for me. We recently lost Frances Caldwell, Gil and Randy’s mom. I cannot thank their family enough for making me feel welcome in the community.
Both of these families for decades have shown great leadership for our community. I wanted to let both of these families know how much their parents have meant to me and our community.
