Enjoy the holiday in other ways

I feel very badly for Mr. Kyle Abel and others in Newton, whose enjoyment of the Fourth of July holiday seems to be solely dependent on their ability to shoot off fireworks all day long.

There are many ways that Newton residents have celebrated this holiday for the last several decades. Picnics, barbecues, camping, boating, relaxing with family and friends and enjoying the city’s fireworks display are just a few activities that come to mind. Personally, I would like to see all fireworks banned in our residential neighborhoods within city limits, but I believe that three hours is an acceptable compromise.

Perhaps those complaining should enjoy themselves and not let this restriction spoil their entire holiday. Life is too short for that.
