Boulders Inn & Suites franchises with Wisconsin hotel chain

Cobblestone Hotels, LLC rebrands Newton-based lodge

Boulders Inn & Suites in Newton has been partially rebranded and franchised out to a Wisconsin-based hotel chain that maintains the standards the local lodging provider set for itself since it opened in 2013.

Now known as Boulders Inn & Suites by Cobblestone Hotels, the business officially began its conversion with Cobblestone Hotels, LLC Jan. 25 with a new company logo to celebrate the partnership between the two entities. Megan Potter, general manager of the hotel, said the owners and hotel staff remain with the company following the reorganization.

Cobblestone Hotels, LLC, holds more than 100 open locations in 26 states, along with several other inns under construction or in development. In addition to the Boulders Inn & Suites brand, the private company is also the franchisee of Cobblestone Inn & Suites, Cobblestone Hotel & Suites, Boarders Inn and Suites, KeyWest Hotels and Centerstone Hotels.

“We have a huge family now,” Potter said of the conversion. “It’s exciting. (Cobblestone Hotel’s) motto is: ‘big city quality, small-town values.’ And we were pretty much already doing that. We’re the same hotel, same great staff, same standards.”

Twelve staff members operate Boulders Inn & Suite by Cobblestone Hotels, 4222 S. 22nd Ave. E., along with its 42 suites, fitness center, bar and meeting space included in the property. Located near the 168 exit of Interstate 80, the inn is a regular lodging choice for Iowa Speedway visitors.

“We were already a really great hotel,” Potter said. “They have basically the same standards that we do. I think (the conversion) just made sense. We really didn’t have to change anything.”
