In the Dec. 31 edition of the Newton Daily News, the story “NPD to begin Cops and Neighborhoods United program” should have stated Newton Police Department Lt. Wayne Winchell attended a Des Moines Police Department meeting to learn about the Cops and Neighbors United Program. He is not a former DMPD employee. The story also should have stated the law enforcement agency from South Dakota came to DMPD to learn about the program.
