YMCA swimmers ready for Midwest Regional

Eight members of the Newton YMCA Penguin Swim Team compete in the 2016 Midwest Regional Swim Meet Saturday and Sunday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn.

The meet has around 1,300 swimmers from 10 to 12 states competing.

Alex Inskeep qualified in the 200-yard freestyle, 50 freestyle, and 100 freestyle.

Izzy Lane will swim in the 50 breaststroke and Ethan Comer qualified in the 25 breaststroke.

Alex Riney will swim in the 50 backstroke, 50 freestyle and the 25 backstroke.

Arabelle Eide qualified in the 100 backstroke and Jadin Brooks will swim the 200 freestyle.

MaKenna Brooks qualified in the 200 freestyle, 50 freestyle, 100 individual medley, 100 backstroke and 50 butterfly.

Chloe Kibbee will swim the 200 freestyle, 50 backstroke, 50 freestyle, 100 backstroke and the 50 butterfly.

Inskeep, Eide, MaKenna Brooks and Kibbee qualified in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.
