Newton Village Establishes Strong Community Partnerships

SPONSORED

When businesses within a community work together, it's a win-win for everyone.  Each company benefits by developing better leaders and positive publicity, and has an opportunity to offer a visible demonstration of its values and how it cares for the community.  Within each company, employees benefit from higher morale, improved skills, and higher job satisfaction.

At Newton Village, team members have established strong partnerships with other community members and businesses.  "Our team members and residents get involved in a wide variety of projects and activities," said Angela Adam, Executive Director for Newton Village.  "We offer jobs, housing, and healthcare for the Newton and surrounding communities, and our employees and residents are active in Golden Kiwanis, Aktion Club with Kiwanis, participation in United Way of Jasper County events, and projects to help keep Newton Beautiful.  We compete in local cook-offs, and participate in the annual Senior Health Fairs hosted by the YMCA, along with local Job Fairs."

Adam is also an Ambassador for the Newton Chamber of Commerce; this connection provides opportunities for volunteering with Chamber events such as the July 4th festivities.  "We hosted RAGBRAI riders, and our team members and residents help coordinate the event," said Adam.  "We also get involved in local business Ribbon Cuttings, Open Houses, and other community events."

Andrea Smith, a Social Worker at Newton Village, participates in Rotary Club, an organization that brings business owners and community residents together to promote integrity, serve others, and bring goodwill and peace into the community.  "One of my favorite activities is volunteering each month at Newton Bike Night," explained Smith.  "Rotary supports education, local businesses, and community participation in holiday events, fun gatherings, and fundraisers to help those in need."

Newton Village also hosts a variety of lecturers, music groups, and other entertainers.  Local church youth visit to make crafts with residents, and Newton Village's Full-Time Chaplain holds weekly Bible study groups, Church Services and other services.  For more information, please contact:
