Fish Fry Dinner 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday Sacred Heart Catholic Church The Knights of Columbus will host its annual Fish Fry event for the Lenten season. Menu includes baked or fried fish, baked potato and coleslaw. Cost will be $8 for adults and $4 for students. Desserts are available for a donation provided to support the church youth group.Newton Barn Dance 7 to 10 p.m. Friday Sugar Grove Vineyards in Newton The public is invited to join in on an evening of dancing. This is a family friendly event. All dances are taught and you do not need to know how to dance or bring a partner. Acoustic musicians are welcome to join the band off-mic. Admission is a $5 to $10 donation or $20-$30 per family. Babies and toddlers free. Pay what you can to show appreciation for the caller and musicians.Vendor/Craft Show 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday Fore Season Golf in Newton The Fore Seasons Golf in Newton is hosting a vendor/craft show with the proceed to help support Jasper County Animal Rescue League. There will be a raffle table with items from each vendor and all proceeds go to JCARL.Nut Fry 5 p.m. Saturday The American Legion in Newton The 2019 Nut Fry will serve beef, turkey and pork Rocky Mountain Oysters and grilled chicken. Menu also included baked beans and coleslaw. Cost will be $10 and will be served until gone.
