The menu includes beef burgers, hot dogs, salads, bake beans and homemade ice cream. Free will donation will help fund repairs to the church steeple. Standing Hampton will be the band for the event. PIPES will be the emcee. There will be vendors, food, drinks, mechanical bull riding and more. Admission is free.Live Music 7 p.m. Friday Rock Creek State Park in Kellogg Four Mile Creek Band will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Rock Creek State Park, next to the boat dock and concession stand. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Free will donations will be accepted. The Four Mile Creek Band plays a variety of acoustic music including traditional bluegrass, contemporary bluegrass sounds and old time country and gospel. The band began playing in 1984, and had performed around the central Iowa area for over a decade at bluegrass festivals, town celebrations and many other events.HQ Grand Opening 10 a.m. Saturday 521 First Ave. E. in Newton The Jasper County Republican Party will host a grand opening for their 2018 campaign headquarters at the former Bliss location. Committee members encourage local voters to come out for refreshments and to meet the candidates.Golf Tournament 8 a.m. Sunday Westwood Golf Course in Newton Join in the fun of the 14th Annual Cardinal Golf Tournament hosted by Newton Athletic Boosters. The four-person Best Shot Tournament will be at Westwood Golf Course in Newton. Registration will be from 7 a.m. and noon. Tee time is at 8 a.m. or 1 p.m. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $50 per person or $200 per team, which includes 18 holes, a golf cart, lunch and prizes. Payment will be collected at registration. Space is limited so register so call 641-792-3087 to reserve a spot.
