Cyclone women defeat UNI, men beat Bradley

AMES — Both Iowa State basketball teams claimed victories this weekend at Hilton Coliseum in Ames.
The Cyclone women shot 59 percent from the field and dominated the Northern Iowa Panthers, 76-51, while the ISU men improved to 8-3 with an 87-68 victory over the Bradley Bears.
Alison Lacey scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Cyclone women. Iowa State is now 8-1 on the season.
In the men’s game, Marquis Gilstrap had a team-high 25 points and also grabbed eight rebounds. Craig Brackins added 16 points and a team-best 12 boards.
Iowa State led 44-19 at the break before being outscored by six in the second half.
