Two Newton residents — Dan Kelley and Newton Mayor Chaz Allen — will be guests on The Fallon Forum on Thursday.

Kelley and Allen will be guests from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday on 98.3 FM. They will be featured on the Fallon Forum, which is co-hosted by Ed and Lynn Fallon.

Kelley is promoting an event in Newton on Dec. 6 focused on climate, environment, energy independence and green-collar job growth, while Allen is coming on the show to talk about Newton’s economic recovery.

The event Kelley will be discussing will be at the Jasper County Community Center, 2401 First Ave. E (formerly Aldi’s) at 2 p.m. on Dec. 6. The event is sponsored by Jasper County Democrats and interested persons are encouraged to contact Kelley at (641) 521-9260 or dankelley@mchsi.com.

The Fallons launched their radio talk show in September. It’s on from 7 to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday on 98.3 WOW-FM. The show can be heard from Fort Dodge to Chariton, from Grinnell to Carroll, and can be live-streamed at www.983wowfm.com. Guests can call-in and join the conversation at (515) 312-0983 or (866) 908-TALK.

“For too long, Iowa’s airwaves have been dominated by Rush Limbaugh, Jan Mickelson, Steve Deace, Glenn Beck and Michael Savage,” said Ed Fallon. “Our show is local talk radio for Iowans who are interested in a civil, fact-based discussion of key issues. We’re delighted to have the opportunity to promote and discuss the good things happening for economic development in Newton and Jasper County.”

Fallon served in the State Legislature for 14 years before running unsuccessfully for Governor and Congress. Lynn Fallon founded the Connection Café, a daily meal program for the homeless and working poor, has worked on several political campaigns, and currently works on the national Farm to School program.
