
Iowa KidsNet to host adoption support group meeting ThursdayLocal adoptive families are invited to attend an adoption support group meeting for families who have adopted children through private, international or foster care adoption on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Newton. The support group meeting will be led by Iowa KidsNet’s Ames Area Adoption Network. Iowa KidsNet is the statewide collaboration of agencies that recruits, trains, licenses and provides support for Iowa’s foster and adoptive families. Iowa KidsNet also offers free post-adoption support services to all Iowa families with a DHS subsidized adoption. Iowa KidsNet’s Ames Area Adoption Network includes adoptive families in Jasper, Pocahontas, Humboldt, Wright, Webster, Hamilton, Hardin, Story, Marshall, Tama and Poweshiek counties. Our Savior Lutheran Church is located at 1900 N. Fourth Ave. E. in Newton. Child care and snacks will be provided.
