A fire Friday morning at the Justin and Erin Good residence south of Baxter is being called a total loss.

Baxter Fire Chief Steve Smith said the fire at 7858 Highway S52 N., broke out about 10:30 a.m. Friday, in the family’s garage. He suspected an electrical cause for the fire, and said the house was probably a total loss.

Family members were at home when the fire broke out, but no one was injured in the blaze. Baxter Fire Department was assisted by crews from Mingo and Colfax fire departments, and they had the fire extinguished by 12:40 p.m., Smith said.
