An H1N1 vaccination clinic will be offered at Newton Senior High School on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon or until the supply of vaccine is gone.
Participants are asked to enter on the north side of the high school, which is located at 800 E. Fourth St. S. in Newton.
The H1N1 vaccinations will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
A limited supply of the vaccine is available.
The vaccine will be administered by nurses from the Jasper County Public Health Nursing Service/Skiff Home Care.
In order to receive the vaccine, individuals must meet one of the following priority group criteria established by the Iowa Department of Public Health:
• Pregnant women (must have a signed doctor’s order);
• Persons who live with or provide care for infants under 6 months old, such as parents, siblings and daycare providers;
• Health-care and emergency medical services personnel who have direct contact with patients or infectious materials;
• Children ages 6 months to 4 years old;
• Children and adolescents ages 5 to 18 years who have medical conditions that put them
at higher risk for influenza-related complications.
