A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday for Judy’s Crafters and Sewing Center, which opened Oct. 10 at 107 First Ave. W. in Newton. Judy’s offers items by talented local artists, as well as sewing notions, craft items, fabric, yarn and DMC floss. She also will be offering a series of evening classes on card making, sewing, knitting, crocheting and other crafts. The first class will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday on card making. Call (641) 792-7999 for reservations. Judy’s is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays.
