The Newton Truck Stop event Thursday evening, in conjunction with the Lucas Oil 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the Iowa Speedway Saturday, brought plenty of folks downtown. The Haulers’ Parade featured the semi trailers of the racers, including the #10 Maxx Force car of James Buescher. Following the parade, fans were treated to a display of Carl Moyer’s ARCA racing truck. Other events included barbecue sandwiches, music by Flatland Frank and the Flat Cats, and a climbing wall by the National Guard. The event was sponsored by The Manhattan and the Newton Elks Club.
