Extras still needed for ‘Underground’ filmJasper County residents wanting to try out for the Hollywood horror movie filming in Newton still have a shot at being an extra. Producers said Thursday that they are still searching for extras for the film “Underground,” which is being shot at the Maytag Plant 2 building. They are seeking more than 400 extras for people to appear in a rave party scene. Although shooting was originally scheduled for Aug. 12 and 13, shooting of the scene will now be on Thursday, Aug. 6, at Maytag Plant 2. Producers have already pegged several local residents to act in the film and work on the set, including Mayor Chaz Allen, who already shot a small scene for the movie. Anyone at least 17 years old is eligible to be cast as an extra, though there is no pay for the work. The film will raffle off a 32-Inch LCD TV for one extra and the first 200 people cast will receive the official Underground T-Shirt. To apply, contact Eben C. White, Extras Coordinator, Underground Films Inc., at e-mail at undergroundfilmsextras@gmail.com. The post indicates the filmmakers will need headshots/photos, name, number, e-mail, and age. Watch for photos and interviews from cast and crew next week in the Newton Daily News. Comments
