L-S Hawks to host rival Braves in district opener

• Head-to-head: In the second game of the season, Lynnville-Sully came away with a 14-9 win over the Braves. Josh Van Wyk, Daniel Briseno and Logan Vos each had three hits in a 17-hit gave for the Hawks. But in the second meeting of the season at Principal Park in Des Moines, Montezuma held on for a 14-11 victory. Van Wyk had three hits in that game, but as a team, Lynnville-Sully had 11 hits.
• About Lynnville-Sully: The Hawks are led by Van Wyk at the plate and on the mound. Van Wyk comes into the game with a team-leading .450 batting average. Dallas Bryan is second on the team with a .447 batting average, while Kenton Dunsbergen leads the team with 20 RBIs and 10 doubles.
