The Newton Pacesetters start season at ISU

The Newton Pacesetters will be kicking off their season by attending the NDA dance camp at Iowa State University on July 20 through 23. This year’s squad includes (front row, from left): Stevi Eggers, Lindsay Doran, Keegan Brumer, Bailey Kellogg, Claire Funke, Alyssa Anthony, Kara Meade and Sara Cahill. Back row: Taylor Fenton, Kaycie Flanagan, Kaitlyn Brown, Chanae Fitzgerald, Mackenzie Hodges, Jenna Blunt, Kayla Brown, Courtney Fuchs, Emily Montgomery, Kelsey Chisholm and Erica Jones. Not pictured: Hailey Eilander. The NHS Pacesetters are coached by Lori Gilmore and Paige Hansen. To help support the upcoming camps and competitions, the squad will have several fundraisers scheduled. They will host a pop can drive Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations can be dropped off at Newton Senior High School between those hours on Saturday or call 792-5323 for pick up options. Another fundraiser this month will be at Hy-Vee Gas as the squad will be hosting a car wash from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 25.
