City of Newton offices closed Friday for Fourth of July holiday

Several City of Newton services will be closed Friday in observance of Independence Day, including Newton City Hall, the Newton Fire Department business office, the Newton Public Library, Newton Parks & Recreation Office, Newton Police Department business office and Newton Public Works.

Newton Sanitary Landfill will be open for regular hours on Friday but will be closed Saturday. The library also will be closed Saturday, and Dodd’s Trash Hauling & Recycling will collect trash on Friday and Monday. Westwood Municipal Golf Course and Maytag Pool will remain open for regular hours this weekend.
