Good Samaritans alive and well in the community

To the Editor,

I bought a motorcycle this past Saturday. Early Sunday morning I rode it all over town enjoying the beautiful day. I had a couple of dollars for gas and my driver’s license in my pocket. When I got home later, I reached in my pocket and my driver’s license was gone.

My immediate thought was “How do I begin to backtrack everywhere I’d been?” Of course I’d have to get it replaced Monday and stay off the bike the remainder of the weekend. Bummer!

Later that afternoon I was fixing supper and my husband was grilling. I heard him talking to someone and assumed it was a neighbor, so I went outside. A man was standing in our yard telling my husband they’d been to a family reunion and he’d found my driver’s license in the street.

Just when I thought “good samaritans” had become extinct, Tim Cottrell and his nephew, “Catfish” stepped up and proved me wrong.

Thank you again and God bless you both.
