School board wrong to raise pay
To the Editor,
The Newton school board approves a salary increase for secretaries, supervisors, managers and head custodians! Wow!
None of the above need raises as their jobs will not be eliminated. Their jobs are secure.
This town lays off employees and some businesses cut hours. Those people have a hard time feeding their families, paying rent or making a house payment and buying gas for their car.
The town, state and world economy is unstable.
Common sense — where is it? This school board has their heads you know where. Freeze wages at this time. That would make sense.
This school board needs to be replaced with some common sense people.
