Scenic Byway begins Saturday

By From Stone City to Bellevue Along the Grant Wood Scenic Byway

“Grant Wood Scenic Byway — A Group of Cultural Creatives” have joined from Stone City to Bellevue to create the First Annual Art and Culture Tour along the Grant Wood Scenic Byway.

The event is scheduled for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. The tour will feature artist studios, historical buildings, museums and wineries showcasing area artists.

Organizers in each community are coordinating efforts with local artists in Jones and Jackson Counties. Jan Holub and Rose Rohr with the Anamosa Cultural Alliance have coordinated with 19 artists in Anamosa and Stone City to showcase their creative talent at artist studios, Grant Wood Art Gallery, Daly Creek Winery and other historical buildings along the route. The Paint and Pallet Club is located on 64 Highway at Antioch School (Grant Wood’s elementary school), where the organization will showcase their works. Marilyn Gray from Fun Fun Fun in Wyoming will showcase nine artists and the Midland High School Art Students.
