Emerson Hough students attend career fair

Several presenters talked with Emerson Hough students at the end of Apirl about their jobs. Artist Karen Guffey (rug hooking), Captain Dennis Curtis (EMT) and Conservationist Nathan Unsworth spoke with lower elementary students about their job in the morning.

Afternoon sessions were for students in grades three through six and took place in the afternoon. Each student was scheduled to listen to presenters based on their interests. They were able to choose from: Brittany Shaw, horse trainer; Mike Wignall and Terry Bradley, musicians; Kevin DeRonde, John Stoddard Cancer Center manager and former NFL player; Criste Scarnati, Prairie City News editor and photographer; Bob McCormick, mechanic; Juli Hersom, Skiff physical therapist; Rob Nelson, air ambulance helicopter pilot; Kris Smith, Jasper County Animal Rescue League; Nathan Unsworth, Jasper county conservationist; Alyssa Kirtz and DeeAnn Olson, ISU role models in aerospace engineering and civil engineering; Brian Shelley, state trooper, and Criag Keith, dispatcher; and SSG Benjamin Welch, Iowa National Guard.

Emerson Hough students have been studying careers since spring break.
