Fieldwork hails spring’s arrival

The drier weather last week allowed many Jasper County farmers, including this one east of Colfax, to finally get some fieldwork done, including fertilizer and chemical applications. According to the Iowa Department of Agriculture, topsoil moisture is 78 percent adequate, and the coming week should provide opportunities for many farmers to begin planting.
