Fast start turns into another loss for Cardinals

GRINNELL — The first half of Newton’s wrestling dual with Grinnell on Tuesday was just what Cardinal coach Bill Reed wanted. Unfortunately, not many matches in the last half of the night were very positive. The Cardinals let a 24-6 lead slip away in Grinnell as the Tigers scored 33 straight points and continued their recent success over Newton, winning 39-30. “We were better tonight than we were last Thursday, and we had better intensity,” Reed said. “But, we forced some moves that cost us.” There were some positives on the night.
