CMB girls fall short of big upset

MAXWELL — The tough task of knocking off No. 10 Roland-Story was almost successful Saturday night in Maxwell. Seniors Julia Robinson and Jordan Maher combined to score 25 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Raiders lost at home by just eight points, 52-44, to a very good Lady Norse team. The Raiders were out-rebounded for the second straight night — this time by 17 — and they turned the ball over 22 times in the loss. Robinson finished with 12 points, eight rebounds and three assists, while Maher added 13 points and six rebounds. Senior Mackenzie Petermeier had seven points and a career-high eight steals. The Raiders missed 10 free throws and lost by eight. CMB (5-6) gets another chance at Roland-Story (10-0) Friday in Story City. The Raide
