L-S girls win third straight
MONTEZUMA — Lynnville-Sully outscored Montezuma 12-5 in the fourth quarter to pull out a 44-40 victory Tuesday night in girls basketball play.
“I am very happy with how hard the girls played for the whole game,” Lynnville-Sully coach Jerry Hulsing said. “We struggled in the middle part of the game but kept battling for 32 minutes and pulled it out in the last two minutes of the game. We hit some key free throws down the stretch to secure the win.”
Danielle Samson had another solid game for the Hawks (8-2, 8-1) as she collected 15 points and 12 rebounds. Cyvannah Doll added nine points for Lynnville-Sully.
The Hawks shot just 37.8 percent for the game but were helped by a 31-22 advantage on the boards and shot 17 more free throws than Montez
