Former Hawk standout Nikkel leading Grand View

Grand View University’s women’s basketball team is being led this season by a former Lynnville-Sully Hawk. Jodi Nikkel, a Sully native, is first in scoring at 13.9 points and second in rebounding at 9.5 boards per game for the Vikings this season, helping Grand View to a 10-5 start to its season. Nikkel has started 14 of the 15 games, shoots 54 percent from the floor and has connected on 73 percent of her free throws while playing 32 minutes per game. Also on the Grand View roster is Newton native Molly Gunsaulus, who averages 11 minutes per game for the Vikings. Through 15 games, Gunsaulus is averaging 2.6 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. She is 7-of-15 from 3-point range this season.
