L-S boys rally comes up short

SULLY — A 17-6 first quarter deficit was too much to overcome for the Lynnville-Sully boys basketball team Monday night in a 59-54 loss to Keota. “We dug ourselves a hole early and were unable to get out of it,” said Hawks coach Nick Harthoorn. “The boys fought hard, but we made too many mistakes at key times.” Dallas Bryan led Lynnville-Sully (4-1, 3-1) with 21 points while Zach Stafford had 11 points. Logan Vos led the Hawks with nine rebounds. After being down 11 points at the end of the first quarter, Lynnville-Sully narrowed the deficit to just 32-28 at halftime. But the Hawks couldn’t get over the hump, with Keota holding to their slim lead by outscoring Lynnville-Sully 27-26 in the second half.
