Sen. Black joins energy, environment committee
State Sen. Dennis Black (D-Lynnville), has been named chairman of the new Senate Environment and Energy Committee. The committee was established to work with environmental and energy issues important to Iowa. “My district is integral in the state and nation in the production of wind energy structural components, and with global economic improvements, that presence will be significantly enhanced. With TPI composites building wind power blades in Newton, and the recent start of Trinity wind power towers in Plant 2, I can guarantee that any legislation out of my committee will only enhance these industries,” Black said. Other committees to which Senator Black was assigned include Agriculture, State Government, Veteran’s Affairs, Natural Resources, and will serve as vice-chair of the Natural Resources, Environment and Energy Appropriations Sub-committee.
