Defense keys girls to blowout victory

SULLY — Having a week off from games due to the Thanksgiving break showed for the Lynnville-Sully girls basketball team. The Hawks shot just 28 percent from the field and 25.8 percent from the free-throw line (8-of-31), but it was swiping away 19 steals and causing 37 turnovers that helped Lynnville-Sully come away with a 45-26 victory over Tri-County on Tuesday night. “Defensively, we got out and did what we needed to do,” said Lynnville-Sully coach Jerry Hulsing. “We caused a lot of turnovers and had ball pressure.
