Anytime Fitness: Maximized Living is next step in improving your life

“Ryan” my mom said into the phone with a broken voice. “Come to the hospital, it’s your brother … the doctors don’t know if he’s going to pull through.” That phone call will never be forgotten. Two years ago, a day after playing football in the Iowa Games with my younger brother, he laid in a hospital bed with his doctor telling us that, if he pulls through, his best case scenario is colon cancer by the time he’s 35. He was about three hours from having his colon removed at the age of 22. After a week in the hospital he was diagnosed with a rare form of “Ulcerative Colitis.” So rare in fact that he was told he had a better chance of winning the lottery than he did of getting this form of the disease. Ulcerative Colitis is a disease where ulcers develop in the lining of your rectum and colon. After a second week in the hospital, he was able to take in some solid foods, as his steroid had finally kicked in and started fighting off the bacteria. Three doctors and five medications later, they thought they had this burden under control. However, it was crucial that he was able to be weaned off the steroids, as this was going to shorten his life anyway. This was impossible and each time he tried he wound up back where he was that first day in the hospital. My brother was a star four-sport athlete in high school and a starter with his college football team. How could he have this disease? He was very bright and on his way to graduate school to be a dentist. Instead, he decided to go to chiropractic school to find an alternative to fighting this disease. He found a group called “Maximized Living,” a principal based organization created by Dr. Ben Lerner. Living by five essentials, people maximize their lives. Disease is cured, disease is prevented, people are healthier, happier, live longer, weigh less and are physically, mentally and spiritually stronger. My brother is on his way to being one of only five “Maximized Living” doctors in the state. Why are we such believers? For the last 31 weeks, my brother has been off every medication he was told he could not live without. His story is very minor compared to the testimonials I’ve heard over the last sixmonths at seminars and from a Maximized Living doctor in our area. I’ve seen a case of 27 autism children be completely reversed under the care of Maximized Living. I’ve seen a lady with MS in a wheel chair for many years walk onto a stage six months after she decided to give Maximized Living a try. Maximized Living isn’t just for those with a disease or those who are overweight. The five essentials are crucial for everyone. It teaches you how to prevent you and your children from dealing with obesity, illness, stress and so on down the road. It has helped me through a very tough time recently with my family. An event occurred where the conventional thing to do would be to be angry, fight and be so stressed that you would be sick for weeks. Instead, Maximized Living has given me a different perspective on life and my faith. I was able to handle this situation respectfully and in a way that I will be able to look back upon this time and not have any regrets. I can’t count the amount of times people have said something along the lines of, “I can’t believe how well you are handling this,” or “I really look up to you for the way you are dealing with this.” Thanks to Maximized Living principles, I have improved my life in one of the most difficult situations. Back to health, is health the most important thing to you? If your child was extremely ill wouldn’t you do anything to make them better? Wouldn’t you quit your job, get more jobs, borrow money, steal money, anything to get them healthy? Wouldn’t you do the same for yourself so your children and loved ones could keep you in their lives for as long as possible? Health is the most important thing in your life. Not money, not time, not education, not how you look or the vacation you are planning for spring break … health. Without good health, the before mentioned doesn’t really matter. If you agree that health is the most important thing, e-mail me at ryan@ptsfit.com or call (515) 537-9759. I want to invite you to a free dinner to learn more about Maximized Living. The dinner will be held Monday, Nov. 17, in Pella. I don’t want to hear excuses. Maximized Living has touched my brother’s life, my life and can only positively impact yours.
