Annual event offers hoppin’ good time in Monroe

A variety of activities marked the 112th celebration of Old Settlers Days on Friday and Saturday. The weekend was marked with two-days of family friendly fun, including a frog jump, watermelon feed, volleyball and 3-on-3 basketball tournament and horse-shoe pitch. The celebration also featured entertainment from both local and national acts. Entertainment was provided by PCM cheerleaders, Jazz Creations, cloggers and the LS Big Band. Nationally-known entertainer Terry Lee Goffee, performed “A Tribute to Johnny Cash” and packed the park in Monroe Saturday night, capping off the weekend.
