Speedway announces sponsor for NASCAR race

Special to Daily News

Featherlite Coaches Inc. —known throughout the country by owners, racing teams, drivers and fans — will share its logo with NASCAR. The state-of-the-art Featherlite Luxury Coaches will be on display at Iowa Speedway on May 20, for the NASCAR Grand National Series - Featherlite Coaches 200. “Featherlite is ‘the official coach’ of NASCAR, so it’s only natural that we want to be involved with this historic NASCAR Grand National ‘East versus West’ event at the new Iowa Speedway,” Conrad Clement, Featherlite Coaches CEO, said. “Featherlite Coaches is very pleased to support one of the nation’s most state-of-the-art racetracks, and we look forward to welcoming Daytona 500 Champion Kevin Harvick to Iowa. Kevin is best known as the driver of the Number 29 Chevy for the legendary Richard Childress, but he also won a West Series Grand National Championship in 1998, and I’m sure he really wants to win the inaugural NASCAR race at Iowa Speedway as well.” Iowa Speedway vice president and General Manager, Craig Armstrong, said Iowa Speedway is honored to have Featherlite Coaches as sponsor for the first NASCAR race at Iowa Speedway.
