Prepping for Holiday Cheer

Crews from Van Maanen Electric are beginning to adorn the Jasper County Courthouse with holiday cheer. The decorations are in preparation for the annual Courthouse Lighting event set for Nov. 23. After the courthouse lights up like a Christmas tree, the Newton Chamber of Commerce will host its lighted parade around the courthouse square.

DES MOINES — Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig commented on the Iowa Crop Progress and Condition report released by the USDA National Agricultural Statistical Service. The report is released weekly from April through November.
