Cardinals fall to Indians

OSKALOOSA — Self confidence is a big factor in competition. Newton High’s Cardinal volleyball team is showing its coaches it has confidence during practice sessions.

“The bottom line is that we have to bring the confidence we have during practice into a match and play with that same confidence,” Newton head coach Kim Florke said. “We are definitely capable of doing that and when we do we will be successful.”

Newton went to Oskaloosa on Tuesday to play the Indians in Little Hawkeye Conference action. The Indians defeated the Cardinals 25-17, 25-15, 25-9.
