Lynnville-Sully beats North Mahaska

SULLY — Lynnville-Sully’s Hawks handled a tough North Mahaska Warhawk volleyball team in South Iowa Cedar League action Thursday. The Hawks prevailed in three straight sets.

The Hawks improved to 2-0 in conference volleyball play with a 25-21, 25-22, 28-26 win at home over North Mahaska. Lynnville-Sully is 6-3 overall while North Mahaska dropped to 4-5.

Mallory Loftus dominated at the net with 13 kills, four solo blocks and one assisted block. for the Hawks Krystal Van Dyke had nine solo blocks and two kills.

Janelle Rozendaal put up 16 set assists and had 19 digs. Cayler Noun Harder led the team with 22 digs and had one kill. Korinne Jansen had 18 digs and six kills.

Denali Conover had 16 digs and at the net she had four kills and one block assist. Jaden Brand put up seven digs and Loftus had four digs.

The Hawks went 79-of-86 serving for a .919 serving efficiency. Conover led with a 21-of-23 from the service line while Loftus went 18-of-19 and Jansen was 12-of-13. Jansen, Loftus and Van Dyke each had one service ace.

Lynnville-Sully (6-3) hosts HLV at 7 p.m. Monday in SICL play at Sully.
