Newton Congregational United Church of Christ, 308 E. Second St. N., will host an end-of-the-summer celebration from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Community members are invited to come enjoy brats and hot dogs, chips, soda and popsicles; an assortment of lawn games (including bean bag toss, ladder golf, yardzee, giant Jenga and lawn darts); Bingo!, a sidewalk chalk drawing competition, water balloon toss contest and cake walk, all with prizes; face painting and bubbles; music; and a whole lot of fun.
