Chamber welcomes new teachers with Wednesday luncheon

New educators and administrative staff in the Newton Community School District and Newton Christian School were welcomed by community leaders Wednesday during a luncheon at the DMACC Conference Center, organized by the Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce.

Amanda Price, executive director of the Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce, said both school districts are huge stakeholders in the community working together toward the same goals.

“You’re also extremely crucial in shaping our community because you’re obviously shaping our future young leaders, which is super important,” Price said, noting the chamber likes to regularly host this annual luncheon to get to know Newton’s newest teachers.

She added, “Some of you may not be new to the community (and) some of you may be, but we hope this will be a great start to your school year and kind of send you off with some familiar faces, some business leaders in the community that you can reach out to and feel warm and welcome.”
