• Taggert. L. Stanley, 28, of Newton, was charged with fifth-degree theft and trespassing from an incident that occurred July 9 at 8:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Iowa Speedway Drive. According to the Newton Police Department, the loss prevention associate at Walmart recorded Stanley taking diapers off the shelf and then walked out without paying for the items. The incident was recorded on the Walmart security video. The total for the items was $122.77. Stanley was also served a trespass noticed that banned him from the store on Feb. 21. Stanley was arrested at 2:44 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Jasper County Jail on the warrant for the charges.
