A Black Hawk County woman was arrested on her third offence operating while intoxicated and child endangerment charges after witnesses reported she had been driving in the wrong lane on Highway 330.

According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, Rachel B. Storm, 38, of Washburn, was arrested at 11:21 a.m. July 6. A witness observed Storm allegedly driving northbound in the southbound lane on Highway 330 North in Jasper County, according to the report.

Later Storm was observed in the ditch on the property of 10934 N. 107th Ave. W. in Jasper County. She was seen exiting her vehicle with two children.

Storm appeared intoxicated. One of the children told the witness Storm had been drinking and was drunk at the time, the report said.

JCSO made contact with Storm who admitted to drinking too much, and she was trying to drive her children to Adventureland.

When the JCSO asked her to perform sobriety tests, she refused to do so. She was transported to the Jasper County Jail and upon arrival Storm further refused all tests and became combative.

Storm posted a $5,000 bond. Her court date is set for 9 a.m. July 17.
