Newton Police Department

• Jordan J. Troen, 27, of Newton, was charged with interference with official acts and trespassing at 2 a.m. June 30 in the 500 block of East 11th Street South. According to the Newton Police Department, officers responded to an unwanted guest. The victim stated Troen had been there for two days and wouldn’t leave. When police arrived he was in the upstairs bedroom and stated he lived just down the street. Troen was told multiple times to leave. Officers assisted Troen downstairs and told him he needed to leave or he would go to jail. Officers escorted Troen toward the door when he attempted to sit in a recliner. Officers then told Troen he was under arrest and he started to struggle and tried to get away. He was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
