The Newton Municipal Band will honor the nation’s independence at its concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 27 at Fred Maytag Bowl in Maytag Park.
With director Jim Beerends on the podium, the band will salute the USA and those who strive to maintain its freedom. Master of Ceremonies will be Fred Chabot.
Beginning with our national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner,” the band will continue with “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “America, the Beautiful,” “The Stars and Stripes Forever,” “Armed Forces Salute,” “God of Our Fathers,” “The Black Horse Troop,” “An American Spectacular,” “Power and Glory” and “Our Own Red, White and Blue.”
Spend the evening in the beautiful setting of Maytag Park, and join the band as it pays tribute to the birth of the nation.
