American Legion Riders Heroes Ride Saturday

The American Legion Riders Post #46 is holding a fundraiser for UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown Foundation’s Heroes Fund Saturday.

The second annual Heroes Ride kicks off at the UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown Medical Park and will ride to Kellogg, Baxter, Collins and State Center before returning to the American Legion Post #46 in Marshalltown. Registration for the ride starts on at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and “kickstands up” is at 11:30 a.m. Registration is $20 per person. Cars are welcome as well as motorcycles.

The ride will benefit the Foundation’s Heroes Fund that is expanding access to healthcare for local veterans including physical rehab services and local veteran health assessment scheduled for the fall of 2019.

In addition to holding the ride, the American Legion Riders Post #46 is also raffling off a brand new Harley Davison Softail Deluxe. Proceeds will support both the Foundation’s Heroes Fund as well as local group Paws & Affect. Paws & Affect raises funds to provide service dogs to local veterans as well as children in need.

Only 1,000 tickets will be sold. Tickets are $40 per piece and will be available at the Heroes Ride. The drawing will take place a week later at the second ride hosted this summer by the American Legion Riders Post #46. This ride will benefit Paws & Affect.

The American Legion Riders Post #46 “wants to do everything we can to partner with local organizations caring for the veterans in the Marshalltown area. We’re looking forward to a couple of great rides,” Kevin Huseboe, ride organizer, said.

Deirdre Gruendler, UnityPoint-Health – Marshalltown Foundation Director said “the Foundation is so grateful for our partnership with the Legion Riders. Join us on June 22, it’s going to a great day.”
