• Skuyler J. Ellington, 29, of Oelwein, was charged with domestic assault at approximately 2 p.m. June 6. Ellington was picked up for outstanding warrants at the Fayette County Jail and transported to the Jasper County Jail.
The incident occurred Sept. 9, 2018. The victim alleged Ellington struck her over her having his phone. During the assault Ellington struck the victim two times with a closed fist causing injuries to the victims face.
The Newton Police Department spoke to witnesses who said they saw Ellington hit the victim.
